Welcome to Senior Aupair!
My name is Angela Harde, and I am the founder of ErlebensWert GmbH, the company behind the Senior Aupair brand. This brand specializes in placing German speaking seniors in the second half of their lives as senior aupairs with mostly German speaking families abroad.
I am driven by the desire to connect people who might otherwise never have met. For me, it’s not just about placement, it’s about trust, appreciation, and genuine connections.
My roots are in the Palatinate Forest in the south of germany, where I grew up. Nature and especially the forest remains an important source of strength for me to this day. It symbolizes peace, clarity, and stability, and it guides me in my work as well.
My strengths
Thanks to my extensive travels, my volunteer work, and my professional assignments abroad, I know how enriching, but also challenging, life away from home can be.
I’ve felt particularly close to the people and cultures I’ve encountered when living with host families—whether during my school exchange in the U.S., my internship semester in Ecuador, or my volunteer work in Guatemala. These experiences have had a lasting impact on me and enriched my perspective on other ways of life.
I’m a good listener and take the time to address your questions. Thanks to my extensive network, I find personalized solutions and connect the right people.
My organizational skills, my many years of professional experience, and my degrees in business administration and adult education give you the added assurance that you’re in good hands.
My motivation
From my immediate personal circle, as well as from my work as an HR manager in companies, I know how many people with life experience are going through periods of transition and are longing for new inspiration, a sense of purpose, and an active approach to life.
I want to encourage and support these people in realizing their dreams, discovering new perspectives, meaningfully applying their life experience, and growing both personally and culturally.
Senior Aupair brings together several topics that are particularly close to my heart: making a meaningful contribution in my career, intercultural exchange, the well-being of children, intergenerational exchange, and personal development for people with life experience.
In addition, I want to empower and motivate people with life experience to engage internationally, learn new things, and actively participate in global cooperation.
My work is based on values that are particularly important to me: appreciation, trust, empathy, communication, and a sense of belonging.
Appreciation and respect is the cornerstone of my work. I value the life experience of senior aupairs and the unique needs of each host family. I am committed to ensuring a respectful and suitable match.
Trust is essential to me. I place the utmost importance on building trusting relationships with the senior aupairs and the host families.
Empathy is my guiding principle. I understand the concerns of both sides and am here to listen and offer support.
For me, open communication is the key to harmonious relationships. I am always transparent and willing to find solutions that work for everyone involved.
I see my work not just as a service, but as the beginning of meaningful connections. Often, trusting relationships and a sense of belonging develop between senior au pairs and host families that last long after their time together has ended.
